Mouktika (मौक्तिका)
₹20,000.00

Mouktika is a soothing off‑whitish cotton silk saree paired with a maroon hand‑embroidered blouse. Its pallu is hand‑painted with the Chandeshanugraha murti, inspired by the 11th‑century Shiva temple at Gangaikondacholapuram in Tamil Nadu. This sculpture depicts Saint Chandesa (King Rajendra) receiving a floral victory garland from Lord Shiva, accompanied by Goddess Parvati. Chandesa was revered as a guardian of temples by the Cholas, and the depiction is also seen as Rajendra Chola being crowned by Shiva, sculpted in the likeness of the ruler himself.

The saree also features symbolic elements of Lord Shiva—Trishul, Rudraksha mala, and Damaru—hand‑painted and embroidered in delicate floral bud motifs with leaves, adding elegance and depth. A maroon thread border runs gracefully across the saree, while tassels at the end of the pallu lend a sophisticated finish.

Mouktika is not just attire; it is a living tribute to Chola art and architecture, weaving together history, devotion, and timeless grace.
